Masjid Ad-Darojat Babadan is one of the mosque of patok negara that was build by Sultan Hamengku Buwono I in 1774 on a 120 meter square of mutihan land or Sultan ground.
In Japanese era in 1940, Mosque Ad-Darojat was abandon by the people of Babadan due to the area was taken over to build an airforce and arsenal. Therefore, it was not taken care of for years.
In 1950's, the people stayed in Babadan Baru and began to build the mosque there. Its constructions used the former mosque. in 1960's Muthohar rebuilt the mosque and named it
with 'Ndoro Jatun' or Ad-Darojat as the award for Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX for his support for the development of the mosque.
In 1993, the renovation coninuous. Its main room was done by building the main four pillar that each of them 7 meters height. The building of the mosque then create the front building, gate, and the place for purify.
