Mount Merapi was still on Level 3 (AWAS) until Wednesday (24/05), based on data observatory analysis by Balai Penyelidikan dan Pengembangan Teknologi Kegunungapian (BPPTK) Yogyakarta. On the last three days, ash rain came down to several area near Merapi such as Sleman and Klaten.
From visual observation (23/05), solfatara was on dark white with medium pressure, maximum height on 900 meter from Pos Babadan. Weather on top was clear at night, clowdy and heist at early morning and afternoon.
Seismograph showed that there were quake type Multi Phase 85 times, lava fall
316 times and volcano clowd 46 times. Between those falls, there were 76 times
lava fall seen from Pos Ngepos down to Krasak in 4 kilometer.
Volcano clowd from Pos Kaliurang 20 times to Kali Krasak in 3,5 kilometer. From
Pos Ngepos it was seen to Kali Boyong in 3 kilometer.
On Wednesday (24/05), seismograph was recording another Multi Phase for 22 times, 76 lava fall and 11 volcano clowd.
Also reported from Posko Utama Sleman, Wednesday afternoon, groups of crisis
center of Departemen Kesehatan RI and Komisi-IX DPR RI were visiting Posko Utama
Merapi and some refugee camps at Magelang, Sleman, Klaten, and Boyolali. Those
groups were with PT Bintang Toedjoe and PT Sari Husada, which gave aid, such as
milk, food, and medicine.
It was also scheduled another visitation from Ikatan Istri Fraksi Partai Golkar
DPR MPR RI.
